Youth Violence Prevention Training
- Peace Education Program
in collaboration with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) is
providing a two 1/2 day training. Adult participants will be trained to
use the NCBI Prejudice Reduction model. The training will be co-led by
Janene Shakir of Peace Ed and Cherie Brown of NCBI. The outcome of the
training will include:

Developing youth leaders
●
Addressing prejudice and mistreatment
●
Strengthening schools and neighborhoods
Training will be held at 318 W. Kentucky
Street (inside Central Presbyterian Church), Louisville.
Hours will be 8:30am - 5:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and 8:30am - 12:00noon on
Thursday.
Continental breakfast will be provided each day and boxed lunch will be provided
on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Registration is required. Fee is
$350 each or $650 for a two-person team. Deadline is March 5, 2010.

April 20, 2010
Cooperative Games Day - Part Two will be held Tuesday, April 20th from
10:00am to 2:00pm, at Central
Presbyterian Church,
318 W. Kentucky Street in Louisville.
Learn games such as Cyclopes, Tin Can Pass, Helium Hoop, Queen Frog and many
more!! Learn our latest cooperative games to take back to your school,
community center, place of worship, youth group, day care center, family, etc.
Participants will be provided hands-on learning of the games. The $55 fee
also includes written instructions for all the games, a boxed lunch and loads of
fun. The workshop is limited to 40 participants. Registration is
required. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

will be provided and served at 12:00noon with shotgun start at 1:00pm.

July 20, 21 & 22, 2010
Training of Educators - Plan now to attend this annual three-day
training. Join educators and youth workers for a training in peer
mediation, conflict resolution and prejudice reduction. The training will
be held at the Peace Education Program's office located at Central Presbyterian Church, 318 W. Kentucky Street in Louisville
from 8:30am to 4:00pm each day. The fee is $350 for one or $650 for a two
person team. The fee also includes continental breakfast and boxed lunch
each day as well as a detailed Mediation Manual. This training is for any school or
community site personnel wanting to establish or maintain a site based conflict
resolution - peer mediation program. Kentucky Department of Education has
approved this training for fifteen hours of leadership credit.

October 26, 27 & 28, 2010
Community Institute is an annual workshop
for youth workers, social workers, educators,religious leaders, community leaders, etc. This workshop provided hands on
training ininterpersonal conflict resolution, the mediation process and prejudice reduction
skills. Italso provides conflict resolution skills for work with youth and affords the
opportunity toshare triumphs and concerns.
The fee is $225 for one person or $200 each for a team of two or more.
